1 in every 110 children is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These children and their families live within our communities and often do not have a relationship with a congregation because of the constant care and routine required. The West Ohio Conference, in consultation with The Ohio Center on Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI), invites you and your congregation to a training event in September to learn how you can adapt ministries to authentically welcome children with ASD and their families. A retreat for families with ASD will be held the first weekend of October. To learn more, go to www.westohioumc.org/autism.
